Cat Backgrounder -- their families and diet

The cat is only one of many in the family know as Felidae which includes the tiger, lion, puma, lepard, lynx and ocelot. They are all carnivorous or flesh eaters by choice but the domestic cat has adapted to man's omnivorous diet and, of course, man's processed cat food.
